Filmový festival inakost je festivalom pre lesby, gejov, bisexuálnych, transrodových a intersexuálnych ľudí (LGBTI menšina), ich rodičov, deti a priateľov. Ide o jediné filmové podujatie na Slovensku, ktoré sa cielene venuje LGBTI minorite. V roku 2019 sa uskutoční už 13. ročník podujatia, od roku 2007 ho na báze ročnej periodicity organizuje Iniciatíva Inakosť.
FFi je kultúrnou a osvetovou aktivitou, ktorá je zameraná na zvyšovanie informovanosti širokej verejnosti o živote LGBTI ľudí. Snaží sa prispieť k eliminácii homofóbnych a xenofóbnych postojov v spoločnosti, poskytnúť LGBTI minorite ako aj jej jednotlivcom kultúrno-spoločenský rámec pre sebapoznávanie.

Snaží sa empaticky sprostredkovať hlas a individuálny príbeh človeka, ktorého väčšinová spoločnosť nechápe, odsudzuje, alebo dokonca označuje za chorého. Romina Kollárik vo svojom videoportréte pomenúva prístup spoločnosti, v ktorej prevláda nevedomosť, neznalosť transrodovej problematiky spojená s predsudkami a odmietaním inakosti. Video je zároveň výpoveďou o hľadaní vlastnej identity, sebaprijatí, o vyrovnaní sa s nepochopením a odmietaním spoločnosti i blízkeho okolia cez angažovaný a aktívny občiansky postoj, kolektívne prežívanie a cez organizovanie pomoci druhým. Another love song sets the mood as eighteen-year-old Aries enters the stage. „Macho dancer films“ named after Lino Brocka's Macho Dancer (1988), constitute a specific genre within the LGBTQIA+ cinema of the Philippines. Solito's Boy is an ideal representative of the genre, as it maintains the unhindered erotic possibilities of gazing at naked bodies in the safety and privacy of a darkened cinema, without implicating any guilt. The film had to be withdrawn from the Singapore Intl. Film Festival 2009, because the Singapore Censor Board concluded that it “normalize[s] homosexuality and that the movie romanticizes sex between men." Show more
To plunge into this saga, and to see what it was that made Rudolf Nureyev onstage such a furious and transporting poet-of-the-body, is to be at once moved and awed. The directors of Nureyev, Jacqui Morris and David Morris, present a great deal of dance footage that has never been seen before, and it’s a thrill to behold; nothing tells Nureyev’s story half as well as simply staring at him in his prime (in pieces choreographed by Martha Graham, Paul Taylor, and Murray Louis, among others, as well as older footage from his Russian days). The film has been made with straight-up chronological skill, but there’s a minor innovation to Nureyev, and it works beautifully. It’s structured as a talking-head documentary, with the voices of friends, associates, and biographers mixed into the narrative. But though each speaker is named on screen, we don’t see any of them speaking; their words, some culled from old interview tapes, become pure narration. Not so much timely as eternal. The film is an uncompromising, pointed critique not only of the priest himself, but of other prominent leaders of the Catholic Church in France. The explosive subject matter presents multiple cases of men who were abused as boys and, years later, have mustered the courage to give their shocking testimonies. “I came across the La Parole Libérée website by chance and was extremely touched by several of the victim’s testimonies, including that of Alexandre, a devout Catholic who fought for two years in order to gain recognition as a victim and to ensure that the priest who abused him, and who is still alive, would no longer be in contact with children. The film focuses more on the human aspect of the events. Lorenzo is a quiet teenager who lives with his parents and his younger brother in small city in the Argentinean Patagonia.
